NEWSLETTER  - November 2015

AGM:  Wednesday  25TH NOVEMBER 7.00 – 8.30pm

At:       St. Peter’s Church rooms, Jewry Street.

After a brief business meeting, John Romero will speak on “Brexit & Gibraltar”. John maintains strong relations with the British Oversees Territory and is well qualified to give us an insight to the possible consequences of a vote to leave. This will be an interesting insight into one of the less discussed aspects of a vote to Leave.

National Campaign News

The national campaigns to develop networks of committed pro-europeans linked by a common interest or profession are gong very well.  Two examples you take take a look at are those for the students and scientists. The Student campaign has now passed 500,000 individual visits to the social media sites and the national web site is now flourishing with a wealth of news and information.  If you haven’t visited recently take a look –

The scientists4eu network is now over 6,000 strong with both a Facebook page and a web site.  The network lead, Mike Goldsworthy can be seen on their Youtube channel - follow the link:

Social Media is going to play an important part in the campaigns. Each branch is now being asked to find someone to volunteer to be the local contact person for our social media campaign.  This will involve interacting with the central support team and then d encouraging local supporters and members to become active in the on-line campaign.

Could you be our Social Media link?  If not do you know someone who could be?  Please help us find and recruit a good volunteer.

Branch Support

We now have a range of materials to help with local campaigning.  There is a large 6’ x 2’ banner for a street stall or information table, a car sticker, a badge and a very good leaflet. These will be on display and available at the AGM.

We have some very exciting plans developing with the local Universities including Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton.  We hope to be able to make formal announcements soon.

So do come along to the AGM, hear a good talk, learn more about our plans and meet some of your fellow campaigners.
