NEWSLETTER - January 2015
A New Year begins and we hope you will be helping us to make it the year when Britain reasserts its determination to play a leading role in world affairs by rejecting the populist calls of petty Nationalism. Only through our participation and leadership of the European Union can we seek to influence the world as a whole. We need to change the debate within Britain from one about continued membership to one about our vision for a more united and successful Europe in the future.
Nationalism is on the rise across Europe, not just within the UK. But the European Union is not about the rights and interests of the Nation States but about the Rights and interests of the people of Europe. The EU was created to make Europe peaceful and prosperous and to give the peoples of Europe greater opportunities. It has been outstandingly successful but now it is under threat and it needs ordinary people - people like us to raise our voices and be heard.
Make it your New Year resolution to come to an event and recruit a new supporter in January

SPREADING THE WORD
We are planning to run information desks in Public Libraries to enable us to meet the general public, to hand out information and engage in conversation. Please help by volunteering. Contact Membership Secretary Ian Foley to express interest and he will put you in touch with your nearest organiser. Better still plan to organise one yourself, tell Ian and we will make sure you have the support to make a success of your own event.
Talks, lectures and seminars.
Please help us find audiences! We are looking for opportunities to speak to Schools, societies, community groups, business organisations etc. Do you know a local group that would be interested in having a speaker?
Your new Committee is making plans but it is your participation and your efforts which will decide if we are successful. We need each one of you make a positive contribution by volunteering and helping to organise an event or man an information desk or simply by taking every opportunity to engage in conversation with others to make the positive case for the EU. Ask people to become supporters by signing up to our newsletter – send their email address to Ian Foley, email@example.com who will add them to our mailing list. Or ask them to become a member by signing up online at www.euromove.org.uk
